The dollar is a non-refundable reservation and comes off the price. Every device includes twelve months of Papamon Online.
Fed and petted at home, out into the field, into the arena for a real bout, on into the dungeon, and it goes down fighting.
2.41 inch AMOLED touch
Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi co‑op
28 additive mutations
Plays fully offline
Caring, battling, arena, dungeons.
Caring
A rice ball dragged out of the bar and onto the pet, hearts on a head pat, then a mess wiped away with a finger.
Feed your pet, wipe its poop, pet it and watch it get stronger. Neglect it and you get a skinny weak creature.
Battling and Controls
Projectile charging Hold the button and an orb fills at the hand. Only a full charge fans three shots instead of one.
Melee fighting Tap the battle button to make a melee attack. Tap it fast and you chain it into a finisher move.
Flying A sky-born pet climbs in taps and sinks while the button is held. It stays out of melee reach, and gives up its own.
Turn to run There is no d-pad. Lean the case and your pet runs that way, which is why this one leans as you watch it.
Double jumps A land-born pet gets a second jump in mid air. Jump height rides on how well it has been fed.
Body slams A flyer has no shot. Its charged move drives it into the ground, and everything inside the ring takes it.
Arena
Two pets, one ring. Walking in on your own rolls a brand new challenger: random body, random habitat, always at your level and always in fighting condition.
Dungeons
Crawl dungeons, kill creeps and bosses, and collect loot. Dungeons get harder and drop better loot as your pet gets stronger.
True multiplayer.
Bluetooth for proximity, or Wi‑Fi to play with friends from home. Two real devices, two real pets, in the same fight at the same time.
Piggyback combat A small pet rides a big one's back. The rider keeps its own health, its own attack button and a share of every health pack, and the carrier does the walking. It is how a three year old joins an older sibling's run without being carried through it.
Boss fights The checkpoint guardian is grown from the depth you reached, so it is a different creature every run and it gets bigger the further down you go. Roughly one in three of them flies.
Fighting creeps Crawlers on the floor and shooters in the air, shared between both of you. Gates hold shut until the wave in front of them is cleared.
Arena, two players Your raised pet against theirs, with no AI anywhere in the frame. Their name and health sit in the corner of your screen and yours sit in theirs.
Bluetooth, for the same room.
Two Papamon link directly. No server, no account, no pairing code. A silhouette appears when another is nearby and becomes a real pet once both people approve.
Wi-Fi, for the same game from two houses.
On Wi-Fi your pet plus up to nine accepted friends stand in the same field, and any of them can be pulled into a dungeon or an arena from there. That path runs through a relay I operate, which is the one part of Papamon that depends on me keeping something running.
Pets are truly unique.
Pets evolve at random from the care they are given, in three different types. Body plan, limb count, eye count, teeth, palette, pattern and habitat all fall out of a 32 bit seed. There is no sprite set to run out of.
Eighteen seeds in a row, each grown to adulthood by the same code that runs on the device. None of them were drawn.
Evolution mutations Baby to teenager to adult. Every mutation event adds a part or grows a part.
Care mechanisms Feeding, cleaning up after it and petting it. What you feed it and how often you touch it is what the mutation roll reads, which is why no two raised pets land in the same place.
Pet types Flying, water and ground. Fixed at birth, never mutates. Ground walks with planted feet and double jumps, water undulates and heals itself in water, flying hovers out of melee reach.
Twenty five seeds, each grown through a full lifetime of additive mutations.
For the adult paying for it
Inspired by Digimon, reimagined for the modern day and modern parents.
Pets do not die. They get stronger or they get weaker, and weaker is fully recoverable by feeding it. There is no death state anywhere in the game, so nothing your child built can be taken away by a bad week.
Parental controls. Set how much play time a day it will allow, and it stops there.
No chat, and no general internet access. There is no text field on the device and no browser. Bluetooth play is device to device; Wi-Fi play reaches accepted friends and nothing else.
You do not have to care for it. Hunger, mess and mood advance on screen-on time only. Left in a school bag on Monday it is exactly where you left it on Friday. Nothing dies overnight and nothing guilts anybody into picking it up.
No ads, no in-app purchase, no store. There is nothing to buy on the device and no account to make.
Three buttons and a screen. That is the whole interface.

Hardware
Pocket sized.
2.41 inch AMOLED
600 by 450 in full color, on an ESP32-S3 with 8 MB of PSRAM and 16 MB of flash.
5 hours of play
Off a single charge, over USB-C.
Touch and clicky buttons
A capacitive touchscreen for dragging food and wiping messes, and three real buttons on the left wall for jump and attack, because a thumb on a button beats a thumb on glass in a fight.
Motion sensor
Lean the case and your pet runs that way. There is no d-pad to lose.
3D printed enclosure
Every unit is printed on my own machine, 47 by 64 by 15 millimeters, in the case design that ships in this repository.
If this reaches mass production the shell becomes a molded one: slimmer than the printed case, and with the room that frees up going to a bigger cell.
PAPAMON
Front and back. The rear is the two-color print: a 15.5 by 18.0 mm orange egg with its two spots left black, and a 3.5 mm PAPAMON wordmark, both flush 0.8 mm inlays. Four screw towers on the 36.5 by 51.0 mm pattern, and the print lines you would feel with a thumb.
Both drawn to the same scale, in millimeters. Papamon is measured off the enclosure CAD in this repository; the Pendulum figure is approximate and worth checking against one in your hand before it goes near a spec sheet.
